Description
This small stone church is located at the southern end of Lake Tekapo. When built in 1935 it was the first church in this region. It is one of the most photographed churches in New Zealand. On clear days one has a perfect view of the Southern Alps, including Mt. Cook, but on this day the mountains were obscured by rain and/or snow clouds. This picture was taken from the edge of the lake and the stark landscape somehow made me think of Edgar Allan Poe.
