It had rained earlier, the sea is rough with wicked surf and undertow, and it will rain again later with a stiff wind blowing all night, but the sky just cleared long enough to allow for a sunset picture. Punakaiki, West Coast, South Island, New Zealand.

I love it. surf and a sky ablaze makes for a beautiful photo
It was some rough surf,! Just the way it broke. One lady got wet and I thought to myself if she gets caught and pulled in there is no way I could rescue her, even in my hay days when I liked to body surf in similar waves. This was really choppy and the water was cold. After all this in the 'Roaring Forties" between 40 degrees and 50 degrees latitude South.
