Description
I used to spend all my time in the sun, mainly in or on water, and not feel unwell, but now as I age I find the heat enervating.
So this is when I get down to a bit of serious reading.
This book is learned but also very funny and entertaining. I have also just finished "Pussy" by Howard Jacobson, a satire on the Donald, and "The Secret Life of Dog Owners", by Bruce Fogle.

Very nice capture Andrea.
wonderful image this is
I find that I melt in heat now. It is to be avoided at all cost. AC is now my best friend. I am also an avid reader. Now that I have changed jobs I hope to have more time. I love this picture. It makes me smile.
I am reading Game of Thrones on the 4 th book. Quite hard going!!! Enjoy your book.
I cannot take the heat either anymore. So its a good thing to read.... well not at the moment for me. Can´t read books now.
if it is above 75 F. then forget it, I don't want to do anything. If I'm trying to sleep, anything above 68 is too warm as well.
I love reading - Just finishing Mark Twain's 'The man who corrupted Hadleyburg : a fascinating read on human psychology.
Great image
This looks like a wonderful way to spend a few hours. So how close did Mr. Fogle get?
wondefully composed and captured
like you I need it not this hot, nothing better then a good book and a place in the shade of trees .. great composition of picture!
that is your magical book where you pick out your wisdom 😉 fabulous idea and capture 😊
I like how you composed this image! And sitting in the shade reading a book is not the worst way to spend your time 8=)
I've recently finished "A Tale for the Time Being" by Ruth Ozeki, and "Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore" by Robin Sloan. Both were worthy reads. I'm also tripping through a VERY light murder mystery series in which the detectives are a group of quilters in a small fictional town in my home state. I like to switch back and forth between fluffy and chewy.
