Description
These are the ticket windows for the Waitomo Caves, which are one of several caves in New Zealand where there are glow worms. These caves have been known to the Maori for a long time, but the first European to explore them was the English surveyor Fred Mace, who was shown the caves in December 1887 by Maori chief Tane Tinorau.
