Description
This beautiful building, the Rotorua Museum, sustained structural damage from an earthquake on 14 November 2016 that forced it to close. It is still closed to the public. The museums exhibits concentrate on the Maori history and culture. 40% of the population of Rotorua are Maori.
The Museum building, better known as the Bath House, is a Tudor-style building in the Government Gardens. The building was an elegant spa retreat, built in 1908. It also saw service as a rehabilitation center for soldiers during WW I.

That is a beautiful building. I hope they get it fixed up soon so it can reopen.
I've never visited this museum. I bet it is great mate!
Fantastic shot.
Great capture - hope the repairs are going well
The closure also affects some of the employees there! They are out of work for the duration!
Very special! It seems unfair to lose a job because of an earthquake!
Great angle on this...your eye leads you to very photogenic results!
@bmac62! Bill I only walked as fas as i had to to get the entire building in the frame - not one foot more lol!
I painted a tutor home years ago about a third of the size of this museum. I agree about you walking just as fast as you could to get the entire building
