Description
This young woman was sitting on a bench along Karangahape Road near the Symonds Road Cemetery and reading a book. What struck me as unusual was the fact that she was totally relaxed and seemed to be unafraid. This is not seen in Phoenix, the reason being it is too hot for most of the year, too sunny, and in many parts of the city it is unsafe In Phoenix, one doesn't see this. There are parks in Phoenix, but they are usually utilized by groups for picnics.

Very interesting comparison photo. I must be living in a dream world but what you say about safety in Phoenix comes as a surprise to me. Of course I know this isn't all of Phoenix. By comparison, I'd feel safe in a park in New York City during the daytime. I've been safe in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Seattle parks.
