Description

(This image is huuuuuge...please zoom) This is for Steve (eekdog). What this is: Well, I tried to capture Steve's inimitable way with color, along with his eye-popping contrasts and beautiful sense of design. This image doesn't have a lotta 'design'---I'll grant you---but at least I used colors. And I give a bow to his amazing imagination, I love his vision. Also: W/ the city, I bow to all those wonderful skylines in his art, and to his clarity: No matter what he does, he has this uncanny feel for making things pop out, clear as bells. His images 'ring': They grab you. And his interiors are to die for, he does macabre so well, and then big bold rock scenes, and fantasy scenes, and humor...(this guy's got talent!) But Steve is also one of the kindest people here. All of you who know him know this: He's one of those people who help make this place Family. He looks out for people, he shows real love. It's such a pleasure to see him here, and see how he cares for others, and is so kind to their art... As many of you know, Steve's had a rough year. He took a little time off after a long grueling job, then had to get work again. But now he's facing one of the disgusting facts of life: Age-ism. Employers don't 'get' it: If you're not 40 or younger, you ain't s___ to a lot of employers. You get pushed aside for people who haven't one tenth your wisdom, one tenth your devotion, your care and experience...it's insane. So I wish Steve everything in the world to find something he cares about, and for people who care about him. Who respect who he is, all he's seen, all he has to offer, which is a lot. I wish you everything in the world with it, Steve: You deserve it. So a big Happy 60th Birthday, Steve! You're such a caring person, and you're so talented---it's been a genuine pleasure to walk in your world and marvel at your eye and wonderful heart. With blessings and gratitude and tons of wishes that life bring you great joy and light---you deserve it all! Mark (I'll return to commenting soon, I promise) (please zoom) -------------------------------

There is so much to discover in this most inventive dedication, Mark. I wonder how you fixed this, it's brilliant work, especially with the red, kind of smoke background, plus border to it. Really fascinating. Happy Birthday, Steve.

Mark, you have absolutely NAILED it with both the image and the words. This is so perfect for Steve!

Steve was one of the very first friends I made here at Rendo when I joined almost 8 years ago. He has been a stalwart supporter ever since. And he's always been an inspiration with his amazing sense of color coordination and design.

Happy Birthday, Steve!

I think the Girls are cooking up something for him..... LOL

I love what you did with this! There's enough fool-the-eye with that car in the middle that I actually had to size it and scroll in order to check out what you actually did. The car and its reflection looked like it was a different layer, but after having checked verrrrrrry carefully, I discovered that it was perception. This is brilliant, whether you did that on purpose or not. Outstanding image! And Happy Birthday to Steve!

Oh great, Chicago is being destroyed by aliens. Again! This is brilliant, Mark and a great gift for Steve. I don't know him personally but he has been around forever. And I can relate on the job front. Why does it seem that the best people always take the most crap while the S.O.B.s just sail on through? Happy birthday,Steve, and best of luck on the job search.

To view and understand the whole set-up above and below, I tried to enlarge this artwork - but it took just way too long to see... I waited and waited and waiiiiiiiiited, nothing, the little arrow just went round and round and rouuuuuuuuund - I'm dizzy and still nothing... I gave up ! not like moi...

* * *
anyhow, moving along - the predominating and different shades of pink, layer upon layer, give this a softening feel to those skyscrapers and then there is the 'underground' and it's spectacular viewing, my imagination is running away with it and seeing major ghostly apparitions, almost a juxtapose [?] trying to find the right word, but I'm stuck with it... ... and belated 'Happy Birthday' greeting to your friend 💐

PS - thanks for the HTML language tips... Hello World !!!
