Description
These are the Four Peaks just north of the Roosevelt Dam on the west side of Roosevelt Lake The highest of the four peaks is 7,657-ft high. Four Peaks can be seen from the Valley of the Sun. A Pacific Low had moved into Arizona, dropping a lot of rain in Phoenix and snow on all the surrounding mountains.
We were on our way up north to Payson and pulled over from Beeline Highway just north of the Valley and took this picture.
This picture is scanned and was taken in January 1985, Sig...

very nice landscape Sig ! Great capture !
Lovely view!
are winters still so cold and snowy?
Lovely photo Sig. Think we've driven right by here a few years ago after visiting Grand Canyon. Might these be the San Francisco Peaks?
Fantastisches Foto! Wunderschöne Winterlandschaft.
@alida! Not anymore. But last week they still had some snow at the Snowbowl - our ski area on the San Francisco Peaks -elevation 8,000-ft to 11,000-ft) while we had some rain in Phoenix)n.
@bmac62! No Bill. These are only about 7,600-ft high, and they are to the east when you drive from the East Valley on highway 87 to Payson.
Beautiful view!
Excellent shot my friend!!!
Excellent shot! Winter is so much better when the sun is shining!

Beautiful! Of course one doesn't think of snow in Arizona, but elevation is everything!
