Exquisite fantasy!
What an amazing place she is in ! Up among the stars.
"One billion, fifty-five million three hundred and twenty-six thousand two hundred and ten ... oh, damn ... Now I've been digging and must start again ..." The young lady has a lot to do if she wants to count all the stars. Very nicely done, Mike.
love that sky
If you didn't know it (and forgive me if you did), the "sur" in "surreal" means "super," so it's not "un-real" but "super-real". So a true surreal image is realistic---just ultra so. You use totally real, tactile images which feel real and look real, and you do them with total presence and clarity. Then---boom. You combine them in all these sur-real combinations, and you get these wonderfully boggling scenes. I love the center model (forgive me for not knowing which is Staci and which, the mistress of the fl. star; I don't know these characters well, and both of their faces seem partly hidden)---the center lady is dancing and balancing at the same time, fully at home on thin beams that would make me scream for my life. And the blue lady seems to be watching, almost like a teacher. I don't know what that scorpion is doing, but in your pieces everyone feels at home, and I love that it's there like it's protecting her. You lined them up perfectly. Otherwise, a big floating star-symbol in the midst of a shot of the galaxies (!), and voila: You have a boggling, delightful image. (These HAVE to be seen full size to get their full impact.)
