Description
This is a response to a Flickr challenge R is for Rothko.
I was never a fan of Rothko, in spite of a lifetime studying and making art !
This is a manipulation of a very blurry photo I took this morning before it rained of a Tree Bumblebee entering a nest under my summerhouse. What you see is the thorax and abdomen.

Here is an image of the actual insect from a bee website
Beautiful abstract image !!
Ace abstract Andrea. Looks like a view through frosted glass :)
So very different!!
Beautiful photo and photo manipulation.
XxOo
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Its an interesting abstract but I think I prefer the original bee. When I was taking art classes in the late 60s I was not familiar with Rothko but painted a few pieces that were similar to his work. I had some people who told me my work was crap. Today Rothko is in museums around the world and I am on Renderosity. I guess its all in who you know.
it is interesting
I love your Rothko bee! That's great! You've beautifully captured his style with this composition. A fun challenge, and you've acquitted yourself nicely. :)
I like! And I like your tip of the cap toward Rothko in your title. Since Tara and I got Rothko-ized during the past two years (we just saw 5-6 more in our National Gallery), I am also not a real fan. Would I hang one on my wall? No. I think what draws me to him is his perseverance. He had a vision and pulled it off.
impressive and interesting secret 😃
