This is one of the few, of this series, which has a really pronounced face on its back---at least to my eyes. With the two oval swirls at the top, it looks like a pair of glasses, and a big long nose, with 'snot' lol, and blue and green lips...you use blacks very expressively in these bugs: They made heavy accents, in contrast to your very rich hues. Your patterns are, as always, celebrative and ceremonial and primal all at the same time. Oceanic, ancient, tribal, even African. And it all sweeps down to the bottom 'point' (the end of the 'island', like on Long Island), and the wings are, as always, luminous. Another bug beauty from you. Other than the dayglo nose-flood, I'd never have guessed this was the flu! It's alive and eye popping as usual.
