Description
The Superstition Mountains are on the Eastern end of the 'Valley of the Sun'. A lot of folklore is linked with these mountains and unrelated to that every year hikers get lost in the Superstitions and more often than not are found dead, usually from lack of water. This view is from the Apache Trail.

It's a gorgeous mountain range, but I'm not surprised that people die there if they don't have enough water. I've lived in the desert most of my life, and if you want to survive, you have to respect the environment and be prepared.
You are very right! According to the military survival manuals at temperatures of around 40C a person requires at least a gallon/day with more water required as temperatures go up.
Great view. And yes, it is not very clever to go there without water.
