The way you subtly provided background information as you proceed forward made me feel so comfortable slipping back into this reality. And more importantly, in my opinion? Any first time reader would feel the same way. You so perfectly explained and described meaningful events while moving the story forward without getting in the way of the story moving forward. Brilliantly well done, my friend.

Also, I love the direction of this phase of your story. What a grand, spectacular occurrence for your opening.
