Description
We have finally gotten moved in to our new place. I've managed to unpack all the boxes and get everything put in a place. It may not be the final place but that will work itself out over the next few weeks. The pictures above are of the front and back of the house. We think it was built in the mid to late 1800's and the porch/balcony were added sometime later. As is typical with old houses, the bathrooms and electricity were added later as well so they are lessons in patience and creativity, but at least these are well done and in good condition. The grandchildren love the big rooms and yard. Sean is the only one who has spent the night here so far because the girls had a Father/Daughter dance at school on our weekend.
I will attempt to get back to commenting in the next few days. Some minor projects are taking up a majority of time but they will get sorted out very soon. I've missed you all!!! With all fingers and toes and the marriage still intact, I bid you a good night. See you soon.

OOOOO! I'm envious. Puts my 1860 house to shame. Know the feeling about plumbing and electric. Everyone laughs at me for trying to get it back to an earlier time eg push button switches. Glad you're safe and sound. I was starting to get worried.

What a beautiful grand old house ! ! ! Love that balcony and front porch ! ! ! You'll be able to prop your feet up, put on some good music and knock down a case or two (with some friends, that is!) out there, this coming spring and summer !!! (Whew! Did a lot of that back in the 70's !!!!) Congrats on the move !!!

I was never married, but I had long relationships with 2 women (different times) (they both passed on, unfortunately), and I at least know something about being with the same person long enough to understand "getting on each others' nerves". In one case, we moved to a new place together, and that was a challenge on all counts. One of life's biggest stresses, shared hand in hand with one's mate? No chance of conflict there, lol! So I can appreciate what you wrote, at least part of the way.
Congratulations, even though it was a month and a half ago. I really like this home, and the large long land around it. And yes, it does look like the balcony was added later---it's beautiful, with that metal lacework and the beautiful fence. The top photo gives the impression you're on a big body of water, just beyond the landline. (It disappears in the bottom photo.) I know you're doing ok, because I've seen all your uploads since. But congratulations, and I'm glad you all came through it in one piece. Wonderful big home and land.
