Description
Prompted by pilgrims flocking to see a holy statue that performed miracles, the Nobertine Abbott of Steingaden commissioned a splendid pilgrimage church. The magnificently decorated Church of the Scourged Savior is located between Steingaden and Wildsteig in the Pfaffenwinckel region of Bavaria. Between 1745 and 1754, the famous architect and stucco sculptor Dominikus Zimmermann enlisted the help of a number of the leading artists of his time to create the perfect and undisputed highlight of Bavarian rococo architecture. The chancel was consecrated in 1749 and the church itself in 1754.
On our way back from Fuessen we decided to swing by the church because we knew there was a little restaurant
that would still be open and took credit card. There were no visitors to the church anymore, the parking lot was almost empty and it was getting dark, but we had some potato soup with wuerstl and a beer.
It was actual darker than the picture shows. This camera in the I Phone 6 is just amazing, how light sensitive the lens is. This picture was taken on 29 December 2016, Sig...

fine work
There are a few little controls on the iPhone camera where you can adjust the lighting after you take a shot. You can also straighten, crop, and make hand-written notes. !!! Technology!
