you've made this into a bas relief, as if it were made with many beautiful tiles, and lots of stones or pebbles (or just very fine bas relief carving). And I love your colors: very fanciful and rich: The lion glows like he has many lights inside him. And you set him off with the deeper hues of the wall behind. It's filled with love for your dear husband, and it's a wonderful gift for him---thank you for sharing it with us! (I looked at Karel's gallery when you posted the link, and i was very impressed! I didn't know he did all that incredibly elaborate fractal work.
