Captured on film way back in October 1989. Appears some fog was settling in at this juncture.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km), three-mile-long (4.8 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Beautiful images of this iconic bridge. I have no idea how many times I've been over it; one of these days I want to do the WALK--all the way across!! These particular fotos have an olden quality to them..as if they were taken many, many years ago. Really nice shots!!

Very sweeping and complex shots, both of them. The girders are looming, and make fine contrast to the high towers of the bridge, in pic one. And the shadow of a distant tower is just wonderful. In 2, we see the same tower shadow in the background, as well as the curve of the roadway (going up, then down). And the golden reddish tones make it very warm. A fine landscape in both, and 2 has those clouds giving another layer to the pic. Very fine composition in both, Harry.
Very iconic view of this awesome bridge. I have been there but not at this particular spot for this lovely view.
