Description

This woman's shirt pretty well sums up my feelings about the man who is about to become President here. I really didn't want to spend a significant part of my retirement being politically active, but now that this repulsive man-child has conned his way into a position of leadership, I feel an obligation to fight against everything he stands for... I hope I haven't lost any friends here as a result of my posts today. Now that I've got that off my chest, back to more positive images tomorrow...

the fact that you don't speak politically, here, makes the moments that you do all the more powerful. You have no argument from me, re DTrump: Even major conservative voices deplored him, some voted for Clinton despite all their beliefs, and a few left the Republican party altogether. Hardly a paper in the country endorsed him: The Chicago Tribune---the biggest conservative paper in country---refused to endorse him; they said Clinton would make a fine president, they just couldn't back her policies; so they endorsed Johnson, a 3d party candidate. People should read what they said about Trump. This was from one of our most established conservative political voices in the country. This isn't a Democrat/Repbublican issue---even though I was for Sanders, a Progressive (and critical of some of his policies, too)---it's a human one. Trump is a schoolyard bully, a circus barker, who has genuine goodness in him, there is no doubt, but who is terribly misguided by his anger, need to dominate, and his rallying tactics, the kind of stuff you expect from corrupt city leaders, not from presidents. As many said, both Republican and Democrat, the man needs to grow up: He's about to be president. And re Obamacare, if the Republicans can come up with something better, I'll applaud; but so far they haven't---through all the Obama years---and, while I thought Obamacare was a motley bill (rife with compromises), it improved at least some parts of our medical problems substantially; and unless the Republicans improve it noticeably, they will be hurting a lot of people, and strengthening the hold of business over government---one of the things Trump swore to get rid of. I'm with you 100%. And btw, it's great to see you post people-shots; I like the vitality and immediacy of these, and I like this little series very much. I have no problem with your doing this every so often...

I said from the beginning. America had two rotten choices. Trump or Clinton. Superb capture my friend. God bless.

I have to disagree - we had one imperfect, flawed, but rational & qualified choice (Clinton) & one despicable & completely unqualified choice (Trump).

I so agree with you, Claude. It is terrifying.

When it came time to vote, I had no problem selecting who I wanted for President and it sure as hell wasn't Trump.

Nothing like prejudging. Yes, he is flawed, but largely unknown. The other was, is, and will be flawed and not an unknown.

I choose to support the new President, because he [like it or not] will represent our country. I could NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton for many reasons, but if she had become our next President, I would have supported her for the benefit of this great Republic.

I'm sitting an ocean away from America but have very dear friends over there. I also love the US - always have had. I am weeping for your country Claude - really weeping. I cannot begin to comprehend what is going to happen from later this week when Trump takes office. He is unqualified on every level and then some. We can only pray that some of the people surrounding him can keep him in some sort of line for 4 years.... The image does say it all!
