Description
The 1953-1954 Studebaker hardtop coupes were designated Starliners while the Starlight designation was applied to the five window pillared coupes.
The 1953 Studebaker Starliner Hardtop was originally designed by Robert E. Bourke, with help from assistant Randy Faurot.
They were working under contract from Studebaker through Raymond Loewy Associates.
The Studebaker Commander Regal Starliner is the V-8 version of the daring and enduring "Loewy coupe" design, and is similar in most other respects to the six-cylinder 1953-1954 Studebaker Champion Starliner models.
These could have been the cars that would have assured Studebaker's future, but, as the production figures suggest, they didn't.
One reason was spotty assembly quality on the '53s, a result of the rush to get the design into production.
Another reason was the company's miscalculation about the sales of the coupes versus those of other body styles.
Had Studebaker geared up to build more coupes, more would undoubtedly have been sold.
This 3D model is the result of a challenge suggested by Lucien Lillipe.
Of course, only small inaccurate and imprecise blueprints available on the web.
Renders made in Vue8. Not so efficient and beautiful than renders made by Maxidyne with Octane, but better than Poser's renders.

L'avant est très sympa, le côté un peu bas du coffre arrière est un peu déconcertant... ça ne m’empêchera pas de l'acheter bien sur.
Beautiful work with these! I remember them well for their different aerodynamic design. However, there were problems with quality and miscalculations. I recall Studebaker going bankrupt due to faulty planning. A pity, their cars were very nice, well powered and made an impression when they zoomed past. I see you even have the Studebaker airplane on the hood. Keep up the good work! :-)
