Description
As we leave/enter the Langon Chapel, we have a good overview of the exhibit. The really interesting thing is the crypt in the middle. You can make out the carved figure of a knight on it. When I got into the chapel exhibit, I thought to photograph this. ... only to find out that the image already was a photograph. Even close up it looked like a 3D carving. Amazing work on the original, I'm sure, and equally amazing work to achieve this effect in 2D. Well, to the left is a the single tomb we've looked at and the engraving of the monk can be seen stood up against the right wall.
You can also see the person referenced as at their private devotions. I'm sure there is a story there, but we did our best to be discreet and not intrusive.
Time to move on to see more of what the Cloisters has to offer.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Very cool view - ya coulda fooled me about the center crypt
Nice capture in this lighting. Beautiful place.
lovely shot
Is there a missing pane in the right hand stain glass window, or is it a light? Very nice overview of the chapel. Interesting with the photo of the sarcophagus lid. Interesting with modern lighting - in medieval times there would be very little light, considerable contrasts between light and dark, making the chapel a mysterious place. With modern lighting this is lost, but we see the detailed work all the better for it. Keep up the good work! :-)
It is a lovely clean place, would love to have a nosey. Interesting with the person sitting at their prayers.
Amazing!!!!!!
