Description
A polar on top and a brown at the bottom, captured on film at the San Francisco Zoo way back in October 1989.
That must be a very boring existence, even though they have plenty of elbow room.

I'm only here tonight for a quick hi to everyone, but I'll be back for an intensive visit soon, Harry. But, picking up where I left off last time...solid shots of these most "dense" of creatures (physically, I mean: They're like they're 6 animals packed into one). With your usual composition in both shots: The polar bear is captured in perfect harmony with the curve of the rocks (look at the top of his body compared to the curve of the rocks, they're in harmony); and the brown bear carries the lined of the 'cave' behind him right into the front of the pic, and then around as he looks in the opposite direction of his torso. Very well done, esp with that slab in front of him, which balances out the shot. He's luminous too; while the polar bear stands out as a white ghostly thing next to those rocks. I could do about 20 "bear" puns here (I'm em-bear-assed, etc), but I'll spare you. Finely composed and cropped duo.
