Claude asked recently what this lampshade thing was he could see in one of my photos.
Well here it is in use, and on the left some fox paw prints in the frost!
It effectively keeps the squirrels and pigeons out.

Ah, thanks Andrea - mystery solved! Though I can't see what's holding that thing in place - surely the squirrels & pigeons could just knock it over if it wasn't attached securely somehow?
