Description
Auricularia auricula-judae, the Jelly Ear Fungus, is mainly seen in winter and spring. It grows mainly on dead elder trees and on fallen branches, but occasionally you may also find it growing on other kinds of hardwood. These are on Holly in Meyrick Park Bournemouth

Southern California is too dry to get flora like this. This is so strange and yet compelling. It looks like something out of a human or animal body. Fascinating stuff.
