Description
This Siamese silver compact and a matching bracelet were brought back as presents to my mother from my father after his service with the Chindits in WW II.
The figure is of Nang Fa, the Fairy of Happiness – looks like she’s dropping stardust from her hand to the floor.

The Thais still do the most intricate and beautiful work in silver and inlays. Of course the prices are a bit higher these days. The Burma campaign was extremely rough duty and your father was lucky to come home in one piece.
