Description
These flowers are growing at an altitude of about 8,000-ft at Machu Picchu which is located at a latitude of about 13 degrees South in Southeast Peru. The area is part of the Amazon River watershed. The distance from here to the mouth of the Amazon where it spills into the Atlantic Ocean is nearly 3,000 miles.
