For distances we cannot see
This vast and restive mystery
Flows 'round the world in endless streams
Without relent and void it seems
It tosses ships about in play
Defying storms along the way
Beneath it creatures great and small
Swim oblivious to it all
And on its route, just passing by
Where flocks of gulls would fill the sky
The sea would now embrace the land
To begin THE COURTSHIP OF SAND
