Had an appointment with my Urologist today - he looked over the X-rays I had done a few days ago.... Apparently, this is what my gallbladder looks like... Damn... If it's not kidney stones, it's gallstones... I guess this explains why I've felt crappy a lot more the last few months.
Anyway, I'm supposed to get a call from the surgeon next week to set up an appointment, and schedule when to get this taken care of. I hope they don't have to blast... :-O
BTW... This was taken a couple years ago at Elephant Rocks State Park in Missouri. Lots of pink granite here!
Anyway, in the meantime, I'll be continuing to work on the T.N.A. story, and hope to have things rolling soon.

I wish the best for you and a healthy outcome. years ago they said I had a kidney stone but they never seen it in xrays. when I got my gall bladder removed it had some small stones. I was a "stones throw" from a funny farm

Good luck with the procedure, big guy. My sister had it done a few years ago and if she could make it through without much difficulty then I am sure you will make it with flying colors (She is older than us!) See you on the other side.

My grandmother kept her gallstone and constantly kept showing to me when I was a kid,I had to chuckle as you brought back some old memories of that, Good luck and nice capture! (Her old gallstone is now in my possession)...

You have all the luck. Geeze Louise! At least they figured it out before you had a major attack which I understand is not very pleasant. The pink granite is a lot prettier by far. Take it easy.
Well, just as a picture, it's got your usual clarity and touch-ability, meaning it feels like these rocks are sitting in our living rooms. And I love the play between shadow and surface, and how 'present' it all is. With sky and trees to give it proportion (ie, if it were just rocks, these could look a lot larger than they are). I get the feeling that you've been doing expert photography for so long, these pics are just routine to you; but their effortless ease and mastery are a joy for us. Wonderful shot.
(I was gonna say, if this is your back yard, you might wanna consider a better landscaper...)
As for your upcoming operation: I wish you all the best with it! I hope they can do laparoscopic. From my limited knowledge, gallstones are better to have than kidney stones. I hope it's fast, as painless as it can be, and that you'll recover soon. And, since I had the same thing years ago, yeah, carrying g.stones a long time can definitely make you feel out of sorts. (Should I freak you out with my story? I was in a tiny percentile, so you have nothing to worry about. Mine was such an exceptional case, my gall bladder was the size of a 16 inch softball. I saw pics of it from the operation---I thought I'd given birth! Sheee-it! They said I was one of 3, in the previous decade, with that oddity. And, before hand, I had a young female doctor who was head over heals about me---she told me herself when I left the hospital---and I liked her just as much. And I had the earth-shattering experience of having her examine me everyday, which included the usual check-out of my testicles. So I lay there with 102 fever, while this beautiful doc---with mutual attraction---examined my 'junk'. And I watched this as if it were happening to someone else, and thought: "Why the f*** is this happening to me NOW, when I can barely feel a thing???" I wanted to say, "uh, can ya come back in a week?" We never connected afterwards, but she did say, in our last meeting, "I saw your penis and colon---I feel like I know you!" Yeah, that'll do it. Anyway, I wish you a complete success with complete recovery. Sorry you have to live with this now...

Right now I have tears running down my cheeks after reading this.... I can just visualize you laying there while this attractive lady doctor is examining your.......uh..........junk....... And you trying to maintain some semblance of control... I can't even type.... :-D
I've had kidney stones, too - and thus far the gallstones are a hell of a lot easier to tolerate.....

Rocks? I live in Joshua Tree National Park, well, next to it. I know rocks. Lol! These are cool. There is a lot of Feldspar in the granite here in the mts. Its smooth and very light pink. It tends to run more in a vein pattern due to its composition than granite so it streaks. I like your perspective. It makes it look like the stack goes on and on into the distance.

Interesting photo. An interesting pile of rocks. I'd have to guess they were leftover from a glacial morraine, unless some development company left them in a pile after digging up foundations. Very cool.

Oh, man! So many have already commented this. So now I'll add something nobody else knows about.
There are 2 types of gall stones - the cholesterol type are often like hard rubber, can be a bit fuzzy on the surface, and of varying color. These are not good to have as a souvenir.
Then there are the mineral (bile salt) stones. These can be very smooth surfaced and varying in color. These can make great bracelets, stones in a ring, pendants, and so on. If cut in half and polished you can see the layers they are made up of. These you could ask your doctor to give you so you can make something special of them. A nice revenge on them for all the trouble they've caused you. Best wishes for a good operation and quick recovery. Let us know when you're back from surgery! :-)
