Marvelous!
What I like most about this is that on my screen it looks like a super detailed diorama from a fantasy kit with special effects thrown in. ( and yes I mean ones you place on the shelf of desk when done)
There are some daz effects you can render in (and make emitters as well)...but I like your concept. I think I'd have moved the warrior to the far side, so it's less 2-D in composition...but it's a nice render.
