I was taking care of my sick sister, when you posted this image. But I almost logged-in (to RR) and left you a comment. This is magnificent. This "horserace" is the pageant of the whole human race. The background almost looks like the ancient Aztec Sun Calendar. Or Mayan carvings. It could be the sculptures and carvings of any ancient civilization, including the Egyptians or Mesopotamians. And the horses blend into the ancient carvings.
The horses are racing---plunging forward---vut they also seem to be made of gold and brass and silver and rubies and emeralds. They're jewels and sculptures. They're beautiful. They're both "posed for eternity" and "always moving forward," like humanity. And your colors are stunning. You blend them in very complex ways. And the image gallops and shouts---like a horse race---yet it sits still and shines---like a sculpture. I hope everyone zoomed this, because it's stunning full size. It would make a stunning wall-sized painting. And the horses pile into a 'mound' of moving flesh---stunning. Amazing image. A great evocation of your theme.
