Description
Fritz will be 14 in a few days, so for his birthday present he had a dental operation yesterday and had several more teeth extracted, including both his upper canines.
In such a very narrow face the roots of these are a major part of the structure and it was not without much thought that my vet decided that it was best to remove them. This temporarily opened up a connection between his jaw and nasal passage, which will we expect to heal soon.
However very soon after waking up Fritz ate two small meals with relish, and has shown no ill effects this morning either.
He is a very resilient old chap!

Oh, the poor darling! I hope once the pain meds wear off that he isn't in too much discomfort. Give him belly rubs from me!
the other photo makes me think that he didn't want to move; that he was quite comfortable right where he was at. both are wonderful photos. give him a birthday scratch and rub for me.

Dogs amaze me with how well they cope. My vet & I discussed this once & we decided that they don't worry like we do. I see Rosie is keeping her eye on him. Glad he has eaten already.
WOW! and he is still looking marvellous. I am glad he is still ok after the operations. :)
He looks quit dashing here. I'm thinking of an older David Niven. His appetite is a good sign.
