Description

The 'breathers', so called by BMW, are openings behind the front wheels, one on each side of the car. They are designed to extract air from the wheel wells, air that has been channeled by ducts to cool the front brakes. The extracted air is intended to smooth the airflow along the sides of the car and thus reducing the coefficient of drag (Cd), providing better high speed performance and gas mileage.
