Description
Before we set off on our hike at Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, we stopped for lunch at some picnic tables a short distance from the trailhead. There were a few other families there & a couple of deer wandering around. They grazed right next to us & seemed perfectly comfortable with we humans. This young boy seemed fascinated by the deer...

Wonderful candid capture
Which suggests the deer have never encountered hunters, or find it safer with picnickers (no hunters there!). Nice photo. Reminds me of a Yosemite visit where my 11 year old brother had a young one and its mother walk right up to him in camp. He plucked a handful of grass which they set about eating from his hand. That really drew peoples attention. Keep up the god work! :-)
This is such a lovely photo!
Lovely scene...
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
WONDERFUL WORK!
The old caveat, that, when I skip images, it's only to do as representative a sampling as I can, NOT because the skipped ones are any less compelling. That's not the case at all...
Delightful image of a child gazing at a beautiful creature. Great posture (on the child), typically drawn-in, yet a little cautious. And the shot has a deep blue patina, which makes it glow. As do the highlights speckled throughout. The move from shadowed trees to the open grass with the animal, and then to the road and sky, is perfect. The branch shooting out on the far right is a wonderful accent too. Quiet magic.
