Like this and your postwork to highlight the textures. No sandstone here...looks like this may be some of the formerly hot flood basalt I've been reading about. When it flowed to the coast and interacted with sea water it created flash steam and fractured...probably like we see here. Can't swear to it but it sounds good:-)
