Cute upside down capture. We used to have similar issues with the bird feeders at our country house, but there don't seem to be any squirrels in our new neighborhood...

Maybe you can try to correct the lighting. IMHO it is a bit too bright (maybe you should try the free NIK Collection).
Indeed yes! I have mostly feeders with squirrel proof cages over them but they are a real nuisance here too.

I think these are as much fun to watch as the birds. It is fun to try to devise ways to prevent them from eating the bird food and then watch them figure out a way around it.

a former client loved feeding birds and bought an expensive "squirrel proof" feeder. while I was there working I seen a squirrel doing this same maneuver . when I told her she was very perturbed that the money was a waste of money.
they are an intelligent animal, even if their a rodent and pest
