FOR ALL THAT I CAN SEE by Dieter Carlton
a poem for which the artist wrote as follows ...
My parents told me long ago
Of all in life that I must know ...
"Be not afraid to speak your mind
But do so being always kind
Be not afraid to turn your cheek
From those about you lies they speak
Be not afraid to help the poor
And for yourself take less not more
Be not afraid to walk with pride
And truth must always be your guide."
And so I lived my life thereby
But harsh it was I can't deny
And blessed I would not think to be
If not FOR ALL THAT I CAN SEE
