Hello, I’m Thailyn. Back home, on Tricon, I was sometimes called Thailyn the Healer or Healer Thailyn. Here in Menthanla, I’m Thailyn va Shawtila Mishtali. I go by Lyni, Retin, Dilta Shamta, and a few other aliases but don’t tell the council, ok? I don’t have to worry about them reading this because they don’t have access to computers. At least, they shouldn’t. As I said, I’m from Tricon. I came with my dad and sister looking for my mom. We were sidetracked in Menthanla because of the war. She’s somewhere to the north. I doubt we would have been able to cross the Retamlic Mountains into Yarba back then had we decided to continue looking. Now my dad’s dead and my sister is too injured to go. I have no idea where to look. Plus, I have a daughter, Ann, who I need to look out for. As she gets older, she’s starting to resemble my mother a bit. My mate, Ann’s mother, would be so proud of her. I wish she’d survived to see Ann grow up.
