Given your interest in all things organic I get a little nervous when I see a title named "Innards" but this will do nicely. Its a lovely clock and it would be great to see it come to life.

something about the workings of clocks that sums up artisanship...even watches, tiny as they are, are just stunning when seen on the inside. It sums up the devotion of craftspeople and artisans, that they'd work so long to make such a perfect machine in such a small space. This isn't that small, but still, the precision is on a small scale; and one can tell that these people aren't just packing gears any way they wish: They put them in with care. Love the brush lines on the brass (I assume that's brass). Love the cleanness of most of the surfaces. Love the 'celtic cross' of the piece on top, and the incised logos, letters, etc. So few people look at the back of a clock (or inside a watch): You know the makers put pride into their work if they carve initials in there. (These could be the company's initials too.) And the shot has all that light in the center, and lots of red shadow around it, like we're peering into a private world. Love it. (I can't fathom spending 500,000 pounds for a watch; but some of the watches at that price---some---are works of art. And one thinks of what it takes to make that on such a small scale, it's exciting. It's a shame that the art is mixed with the hype of the upper crust market, like artworks are. But the visuals can be stunning.)
