Description
Captured 5/1/16, at the beautiful Victorian Fair, held on the beautiful grounds of the beautiful Homestead Museum in beautiful City of Industry, California.
The other Victorian clad participants were having a grand old time, laughing and cavorting about, but I didn't see her smile the entire time I was there, as if she felt she should be elsewhere.

Her eyes look so sad ...
Absolutely marvelous ... Fabulous portrait my friend !!!
Where is the mind? Outstanding capture! One can nearly here the brain travelling through his/her (?) life!
Perhaps she was worried because she couldn't remember if she'd unplugged her iron...or maybe she was just bored? Wonderful candid capture, Harry!
I'm with the above, this is a wonderful candid. And, given some of the novels of the period, she'd actually fit right in: distant, pining, yearning...Well, in fact she just may be 'lost in thought', as you say. And real character in her face. All set off by that neon green fabric and that heavy duty hat, and her long curls. (I wonder if those are her actual curls, or if she's wearing a wig.) A fine portrait, very well composed, with fine color contrasts too---those purples really set things off, and the light gray chairs are fine contrast too. A very expressive sensitive portrait.
