I was excited when we found this in my pond. I have only ever seen them in the river before.
For those of you who like this sort of thing, I think this is this is Grammtaulius nigropunctatus. It makes its case of overlapping reed fragments.

lol mark, and I'm with katherine too...you say it makes its case of overlapping reed fragments? Hell, that thing's inside a Havana cigar! (I'm telling you, he went to Cuba, got some wrappers, and came home and rolled himself into a cigar. That's the truth. Ain't no reed fragment, dammit...them there's a cee-gar, lady!) What a sight. And you got it to sit on that mesh...it casts a pretty good shadow too. One of many terrific exotic nature shots in your gallery. It must take some doing to drag that casing around all the time. It also looks a bit like a bullet casing---not that I've ever handled a gun, but I've seen the casings. Or the top end of a walking stick. (Fox---from your country---makes them with that famous gold band around the top.) Great capture.
