Description
I bought this new rug which is very much what I like but it had creamish fringes either end, so not suitable for dogs or vacuums.
So I removed them and am binding the ends with a suitable bright blue thick cotton tape.
I was interested in the way the fringe had been stitched as a chain, which you can see here.

I have several hand-loomed rugs from Asia and they do not look like this. Too bad you had to remove it. I find this rather attractive.

the light on the fringe is beautiful, reminds me of the gold-tinged sections of Renaissance paintings (where they used real gold in the paint). The background hues are rich and beautiful in this closeup; and the matting in front of the fringe---if that's the right word---is bold and strong, in zoom.
