Description
When not tilling in the rice fields or hauling wagons or being otherwise occupied, water buffalo can often be seen standing partially submerged in flooded rice fields, or as seen in this picture, being taken out for grazing. Both the buffalo and the boy on his back are very relaxed - no 'time-is-money' here.
And the boy has no western electronic gimmicks like an I pod or cell phone to keep himself occupied. They always look like they are sleeping, but I have never seen one fall off.

What a lovely way to take time for introspection. Man and beast both just seem to be enjoying life. The baby buffalo is also very cute to see. And I wonder what the white flags indicate. All in all a very intriguing and lovely photo.
