Description

Although a proliferation of briers, poison ivy and 88' temperature has essentially closed this area for visitation, the "house puppy" and I sought answers: First, the fate of the goose egg I previously noted. ? Nature had its way with that, as pieces of shell were scattered around where the egg originally lay. From appearances, something had pulled it over to remains of a tree stump, cracked and devoured the contents. There was no sign of the Canada geese, although they seem to have only stopped in at this "love nest" for a change of venue. I saw the pair flying North yesterday afternoon, and perhaps that's why I made such a foolish trek. I suspect that a grey fox is the perpetrator, as it has been a familiar face in our area. Secondly, I wanted to try another camera, which will probably display at the opening screen of this image. My 4100 pretty much consistently turns out decent images at 500 Kbytes or less... this one was originally 5.22 Mbytes, and I clipped it to 326 Kbytes. My vision isn't all that wonderful, but I really can't see a difference between the original image and my clipped/posted ( snipping tool / Windows 10).

Another "snipped" piclet, which may have more detail, but certainly isn't a better image for the difference in memory use... this was 5.09 Mbytes, reduced to 307 Kbytes.

Interesting photographs and explanations. Since at Renderosity no kb-limits are prescribed, I resize my photographs but not compress the file size. So the quality is maintained.

I know nothing about sizing and quality, but this is a lovely shot. Too bad about the goose egg.

They both look pretty good to me. Sad about the egg, but nature is a harsh mistress sometimes.

... just noticed the camera info is present on my latest entry... which indicates that snipping reduces size, but also clips information fields. Now, I want to know what other information fields are available along with an image ....
