Description
Bob, the maintenance man for the electric forklift stopped by to give it the quarterly inspection. A little bit later he came to the office and asked how we felt about D-Con.. Puzzled, we answered fine. Bob then asked me to come with him. I followed, taking my camera with me. He told me he found a mouse nest in the electrical box on the forklift. Then I saw it! it is about 5 inches in length and about 2.5 inches deep.

We under-rate mice. They are survivors. Better you evict him/her before someone gets hurt or causes real damage.

Too funny! We've found nests in old pianos, in a couch, and the little buggers chewed up the wiring in my Mother's car. The topper was a starling that built a nest on top of our car engine. We discovered it when smoke came rolling out from under the hood after we stopped to eat lunch. Two day, $200 later she did it again. Solved the problem with a sticky trap.
We used to have mice overwintering in my ex-husband's fishing waders...

A very cool shot, Mike, and an interesting discovery! I think I can top it, though..... I found a mouse nest in a copier one time years ago in a 7-11 store.... The little beastie was still inside it while I was taking it apart. I reached inside to pull out a part, and the mouse dropped onto my hand and ran halfway up my arm, then jumped off and ran into the cooler where they kept the milk. I'm not particularly squeamish about critters, but I did get some funny looks from customers when I did the Harlem Shuffle in the middle of the store.... :-O
