Description
I'm just messing around with some lighting here. I wanted to get a soft, classic feel with the lighting - I'm pretty happy with the result. I just used a Poser primitive - a couple boxes, with the Y and X sizes increased to form a light panel. It would be the equivalent to using a couple large soft-boxes. I placed the main white light above and slightly to her left, and another one to her right with a bluish tint. I just changed the ambient color on each panel, and cranked the ambient strength up to around 2.0000 - 2.5000. I ticked the indirect light box in the render settings, then put the only actual light - a spotlight - directly behind her for a hint of rim light, If you look closely you can see the SSS in her right ear.
I tried many times - with varying degrees of success - to accomplish this lighting when I was photographing models. Not having a studio, or vast sums of money for professional equipment was a bit of a handicap, but I managed to put a few things together with PVC pipe and plastic tablecloths from Walmart! LOL
This lovely lady is Ryder by Amarath, available at Fantasy Attic. The dress is Pink Dolly from DAZ, her hair is Wild Orchid by Propschick & Goldtassel. The background is by Doarte - Drapery Series.
Again, I apologize for my commenting being so late. I'll try to do better - things seem to be calming down a bit, so hopefully I can stay caught up more or less. I think it's cost me a few friends - that used to comment, but don't anymore.

re some people not commenting here because you've not commented on everyone of their images---I'm not one of those people. I've not commented strictly because I've not been here most of the time; and you've done far better keeping up with me than I have with you, so it's I who should apologize. (I try to make up for it in length of comments---but considering that's not always a plus, I'm not sure it's a compensation! I can imagine you ((and others I do this to)) at the end of a long day, seeing one of my 6 paragraph comments, and thinking, "holy s__t! He wrote War and Peace!" I'm a big fan, so I can't hold back my thoughts very well...) Anyway...
I don't know what you were talking about, re Poser, lighting, etc: I wish I had a clue, but I don't. I get the principle, however (you could see that in my Logic Pro upload): I get the idea of so many parameters, etc. But the specifics? Not a jot. As art, however, I love the soft gradations from light to dark, the soft chiaroscuro---often chiaroscuro in classical painting is quite contrasted and harsh---the wonderful morphs of purples and reds; and the way you have your model walking through this as if she's on her way somewhere, and had to walk through this sensual chamber to get there and she stopped for a moment to acknowledge us on the way. (With an ever so slight smile on her face) Softly, beautifully conceived.
And btw, I've known a few people in tv, and you'll often see whole interiors---in a scene---that, in actual life, are paper, cardboard, plastic, etc. Amazing how unreal the stuff is, in reply to your comments about making ad hoc photo studio backgrounds. If it looks real, that's all that matters, I assume...
Yeah, It's been nutty over here too, I've been gone for a month (not that anyone noticed lol) so I know the feeling. Hey, I just noticed that's not a regular G4...wazzup?
