Description
Since the nanny state decided that creosote was a humungous health and safety risk, folk have had to use these useless coatings that do absolutely nothing to preserve wood.
Thankfully I have a secret stash of the forbidden fluid which I mix 50/50 with used sump oil for my garden fences.
My beach hut is rented from the council so they have to paint it: I wouldn't get away with sump oil on that!

The new paint may not last long but it makes for a wonderful seascape. A lovely aquamarine sea with hills in the back and some sort of odd metal pier. Good eye and a great find.
I think it's a lovely texture, that peeling paint; and the colour is wonderful too. Sure, it doesn't protect the wood at all, but it's ART!
