Taken at the Budapest Zoo. I'm not sure why they rub their horns on wood - I suspect it's to either clean or sharpen them...

Nice photo of this fellow. The rubbing of the horn is to clean it, but also to rub off the outermost layer since the horn grows continually. It is actually made of compacted hair. Keep up the good work! :-)

Orphaned young have their horn filed down when released back into the wild so they wont be killed by poachers isn't that sad they cant live a normal life not that many left in the wild and could be extinct within five years :( Fantastic picture my friend :)
