Description
I work out at Luke everyday, shop there and usually watch jets daily, both F-16s and F-35s, take-off and/or land. I like the sound, the atmosphere and the ambiance, always have. F-16s carry most of their ordinance externally, the 35s do not. I watch whether they use afterburner, where and when they rotate, or, if they return from the range, watch their approach pattern, landing, or sometimes their go-arounds, or touch-and-goes.
Sometimes I watch during the day, sometime at nights, when one can see the long afterburner flame more clearly, or, as here during a sunset. In this picture there is a windsock on the left of the picture. There is one on each end of the runways, these allow the pilots to visually verify the direction and speed of the wind. In the right distance are the White Tank Mountains.

What a fabulous capture, the colors are superb. You have a great hobby watching all the planes. I sometimes see the rescue helicopter but that is about all. ☺
