WOW! How beautiful it is. It looks MUUUCH better than the one I got from a pottery where i was for two months as a 16 years old teenager. But it has about the same shape. Only mine was empty and boring. I still have it somewhere.

Sometimes, with your titles, I don't know what to expect. Coy in a pond? Haddock on a plate? A fisherman up to his knees in the surf? And then we have this treasure. A superb piece. I agree with Denise and am so frustrated that I missed the sculptures you produced during this period.

I'm not back yet, Andrea, but I've read about your tooth problems; and, since today---still wednesday, in chicago---was the day you had the procedure, I wanted to wish you all the best in healing! If I write a long comment, you can read it next week---I just want to send my wishes. I've been through similar, and I knowwwwwww how it feels, the first few days. I wanted to punch the first person who even spoke to me. And, of course, those antibiotics are a must, to keep away infection. I hope it heals quickly, and you're not stuck sipping power-shakes through a straw! In the States, dentists call dental pain "exquisite pain"---great term, huh? It fits. Nothing quite like it. I hope it goes away soon, and that you're back to eating, talking and just living normally...

As for why I choose this image, rather than the terrific digifiddle, "Infection"? Because I loved it, and, with Denise and Mark, I too am sorry for the great sculptures I missed of yours, and wish I could go to every person who houses them and take pictures, look and feel them. I know about Helle's comment too---making dishes, bowls, cups and sculptures that were big zeroes, embarrassments to the art. I'm always amazed at the variety of styles you've created---I wouldn't've associated this with you when I first saw it! (I saw it when it went up.) Even though, yeah, I can recognize your way with animal forms and dots in the fish heads, and interweaving lines, etc. It's got a fine-line swirl, and real massing; and I love it---esp against that slate-like blue: That desaturated beige against that blue is wonderful. As an owner of one of your pieces (now mended---and I keep meaning to upload a picture of it, I must remind myself to do it) (maybe it'll make people jealous), I know the impact of your sculptures in person. Tara and Bill got a painting from Helle and said her work was soooooooooo much more exciting in person---and they love her work online. (They saw Jock's paintings in person too, and said his paintings were to die for close up.) And I know what that's like with your work. I'd gladly put this on my wall or table. I love it. I hope you heal quickly! And I hope my long comment won't set you back 2 weeks. Your sculpture, stone work, ceramics etc make me wish I'd learned those arts. (Ana was a sculptress, first and foremost, and apparently did magnificent work with it, some years back.) Terrific. Get better soon! I hope you're able to sleep now!
