Aww, thank you! It's pretty easy in Photoshop--you paint the general shape of the flame you want in a darkish yellow, and then you switch the color mode from "Normal" to Color Dodge, and it paints a hotter, brighter version of the color with gradient edges. You have to experiment a little because some colors get weird in Color Dodge (darker yellows can go reddish), but it makes super duper sparks and "hot spots".
