Happy Birthday, Yves!!! (January 28) (Cyve) In French S'il vous plaît tolérer mon pauvre Français...Je ne possède pas votre talent merveilleux et magique pour les portraits. Vous créez des mondes entiers avec simples coups de pinceau élégant. Et des coups de pinceau magique. Votre pinceau est vivante, elle chante des arias pour nous... Vos portraits sont chics ("classy"). Ils sont intelligents. Ils sont plein d'esprit et magistrale. Vous peignez nus avec grand panache... mais, lorsque vous ajoutez des vêtements: Vous créez des sonates. Vous créez des sonnets ... « Style » peut être superficielle. Mais votre style est profonde, belle, très intelligente et pleine de grâce: Vous peindre des lignes gracieuses merveilleusement. Vos femmes soar, ils sont contemplatives, ils sont aussi forts que les montagnes, ils sont délicats comme les oiseaux...et ils se déplacent avec la grâce intérieure. Et vous n'oubliez pas de nous tous: Vous dédiez images pour nous tous. Pour cela, je dis, je vous remercie. Je n'ai pas dessiné un portrait depuis de nombreuses années. Ce portrait est dessiné avec des encres, et achevé en Photoshop. Elle est basée sur plusieurs photographies de ballet. C'est un « danseur de la nuit ». Un « esprit »... Merci, Yves, pour votre constante fontaine de l'art et pour votre gentillesse constante pour nous tous. C'est un plaisir de « marcher dans votre monde »... et j'espère que votre monde va continuer à s'épanouir et vous apporter joie et grande source d'inspiration. Avec de nombreuses bénédictions et Merci pour vos dons prodigieux (que vous partager si généreusement avec nous tous), Mark In English Please bear my poor French ... I don’t have your wonderful and magical talent for portraiture. You create whole worlds with simple and elegant brush strokes. And magic brush strokes. Your brush is alive, it sings arias for us... Your portraits are classy. They’re smart. They’re witty and masterful. You paint nudes with great panache ... but, when you add clothing: You create sonatas, you create sonnets ... "Style" can be superficial. But your style is deep, beautiful, very intelligent and full of grace. You paint wonderfully graceful lines: Your women soar, they’re contemplative, they’re as strong as the mountains, they’re as delicate as birds ... and they move with inner grace. And you remember us all: You dedicate images for us all. For this, I say ‘Thank you’ . I haven’t drawn a portrait for many years. This portrait is drawn with ink, and completed in Photoshop. It’s based on several ballet photographs. It’s a “night dancer,” a “spirit”... Thank you, Yves, for your constant fountain of art, and for your constant kindness to us all. It is a pleasure to "walk in your world,” and I hope that your world will continue to flourish and bring you joy and great inspiration ... This reminds me of Neil deGrasse Tyson's motto, "Always remember to keep looking up." A wonderful gist for Yves. Bold, heroic, dare I say revolutionary. She stands solidly like a granite pillar but retains a certain fluidity and grace.

Happy Birthday also from 'moi' - to YVES, one of the most talented artist here at RR and someone who deserves all the accolades he gets from everybody... but you run pretty close second to Yves - Mark, right next to him ! a different type and style of art, but what a result, it's remarkable, so organic - IOW - stupendous !!! and I am also very happy, that it is 'about a dancer or about dancing'... it adds some impressive dramatics.

Oh-em-gee, Mark, among your many talents, you are also bilingual - or perhaps, even multilingual. All I know in French are hors de combat, bonne nuit, joie de vivre, coup de grace, la femme, escargot, melange a trois, and vive la France! But I digress. Gad, I wish I had had a photo or drawing of a female to dedicate to that splendid illustrator of same, our friend Yves. This one is great with its high contrast effects in its endeavor for the wraith-like figure to soar into the firmament above. The stellar blends and high contrasts add to this most apropos dedication, and pays homage to Yves's favorite subject matter.

A wonderful birthday tribute to Cyve and his art. I agree, his paintings are superb and filled with spirit, life, and panache. And what a spirit-filled drawing you created, Mark. It really does feel like her spirit dancing, with the fluid movement of her clothing so free, and her body so strong and posed. It is almost like a dance of life and death, a celebration of both the joy of life and the mysteries of after life, a total release of the spirit, as her face has an almost skeletal appearance. It is a dramatic and powerful drawing, filled with the music of creativity, and she seems to be feeling the dance in her soul.
